On October 29, 2026, Computer Solutions and Rubrik are leading Zero Hour with Rubrik, a free morning lab at Region One ESC’s 10th Annual Cyber Security Summit in Edinburg, Texas. The summit brings together IT and security leaders from K-12 districts, higher education, and county and city agencies across the Rio Grande Valley for a full day of breakout sessions, hands-on labs and vendor demonstrations.
What happens at Zero Hour
This is an immersive, hands-on session where attendees get an inside look at how real cyber attacks unfold in real time, and what needs to happen to make them stop. Zero Hour works from real-world incidents that are currently impacting school districts, state agencies and local governments.
The session works through Rubrik’s threat intelligence alongside identity protection and recovery strategy including how to spot a breach in progress, how to contain it, how to know whether your backups can be trusted, and how to get instruction and operations running again.
Why This Matters for Organizations
School districts possess the data hackers want, such as student records, Social Security numbers, staff data and payroll and even health information. When systems go down, it means that instruction stops and even worse, personal information is at risk of falling into the wrong hands.
At the same time, most district and municipal entities are operating with lean IT teams. There’s rarely a dedicated person to call during a cyber incident, rarely a second shift and unlikely to be a security operations center.
